November 6, 2008 at 10:16 am by Scott Henry in NewsRupert Murdoch’s influence? Yesterday’s Wall Street Journal op-ed page featured this jaw-dropping editorial, which reads as if they’d picked up an Onion piece by mistake.
The treatment President Bush has received from this country is nothing less than a disgrace. The attacks launched against him have been cruel and slanderous, proving to the world what little character and resolve we have. The president is not to blame for all these problems. He never lost faith in America or her people, and has tried his hardest to continue leading our nation during a very difficult time.
Maybe the WSJ edit board decided to rewind after the election by smoking peyote.

I see that the author of the piece, Jeffrey Scott Shapiro, is is an investigative reporter and a former member of John Kerry’s legal team.
What are you trying to say about the appropriate level of trust the public should give to reporters and Kerry operatives?

Dude, he was an “investigative reporter” for the Globe. And no, not the Boston Globe. I mean the second-rate supermarket tabloid The Globe.

Scott – oh, you mean the atrociously disreputable tabloid The Globe? The one owned by American Media, the company run by Roger Altman, Clinton’s Deputy Treasury Secretary? Typical Dem. media trash, I get it now!
And now I learn that Shapiro was an intern in the Clinton White House.
