December sales go up in flames
- Frugality is a virtue: December retail sales plunged 2.7%. Not me, I’m just a cheap bastard.
- Don’t call it a comeback: Osama Bin Laden releases audio tape calling for jihad against Israel … (Wasn’t he supposed to be caught dead or alive or something?) … meanwhile, Israel hit by second round of rockets from Lebanon.
- Officer in San Francisco New Year’s Eve shooting arrested.
- Here we go: Sunday alcohol sales bill served again.
- Art imitates life imitates … bullshit?: “24’s” Jack Bauer’s testimony cited by Glenn Beck and Fox News as justification for torture.
- Like a junkie looking for a fix: Banks in need of even more bailout money.
- Apple allows third party web browsers on its app store … and yes, you have to care.
- Something’s off with this headline, maybe it’s the emphasis placed on the origin of the pitcher, and its purported newsworthiness, as opposed to say, his potential contribution to the team, or his salary even … notice the difference with this other headline … I dunno … I’m just saying…
