Trackside Tavern destroyed by fire
January 20, 2009 at 10:41 am by Andisheh Nouraee in News
Decatur Metro and its commenters report Decatur’s Trackside Tavern was destroyed by fire this morning. Fifth Earl Market, the restaurant adjacent to Trackside, was damaged as well.
UPDATE: Friend and fellow Decaturite Susan Watkins sent me a link to a Facebook photo album with two dozen grim photos of Trackside. If you’re a fan of Trackside, they will make you sad.

What a tragedy! Now where will I go when it’s time to hook up with some delicious Decatur dude? I hope no one was injured.

Oh no! I have fine memories of post-softball beverages there. Sad news.

I moved from Atlanta to Chicago in June & was just thinking of how much I miss ATL & all of my old hang-outs. Trackside was a place we went to weekly to visit Jonathan & the other great staff. Booo…so sad!

I cried when I saw this. I was there two nights ago, on the 18th. I took my friend from out of town there twice last week; it was the last place we went before he went home yesterday. I met so many cool people there, had so many fun times. It stayed open later than any other bar in Atlanta (to my knowledge). I first messed around with the boy I love there, in his car in the parking lot. It’s a terrible tragedy and I hope it can be rebuilt…

Trackside Tavern appears to have ben a GREAT place for guys to get picked up by chicks. I had no idea, but mariage can make you oblivious.

I drove past last night and nearly crashed my car as my heart broke. We have the technology, we must rebuild it for the sake of all of us! – A little dramatic I know, but hey I need this place back in my life

I say it made me oblivious, others say I was already that way.

I agree. CL should delete the entire Diddy post. However, knowing Mara’s penchant for questionable sources, I wouldn’t be surprised if she uses some of those posts as sources for her book on BMF.
