Meet State Rep. Jerry Keen, R-Disney
April 9, 2009 at 1:09 pm by Thomas Wheatley in NewsAfter we spoke with lawmakers who attended last Wednesday’s sitdown with Gold Dome Republicans about helping MARTA avoid drastic budget cuts — a meeting during which one lawmaker allegedly said he “[lived] closer to Disney World than any MARTA station” and occasionally rode the metro region’s largest transit agency to “ball games” — we’re now able to report the elected official’s name.
State Rep. Jerry Keen, R-St. Simons. He’s also the House Majority Leader. Lobbyists this session showered him with everything from Cirque du Soleil tickets to a $303.60 dinner. What he really could use next year is an eTicket.
Keen, sadly, did not return our calls. (Keen does not return calls to CL. Ever.) We tried to be “journalists” and get his take on it, but oh well.

what a rotten, heartless individual? I know this will sound juevenile, but is there any way that we can ban these Atlanta-hating, hick, legislators from all Atlanta events? Ban them from all restaurants, concerts, sporting events, and especially MARTA! The only events that they can attend are civil war reenactments and monster-truck pulls.

“We tried to be “journalists” and get his take on it, but oh well.”
Try getting an interview with the Georgia Public Policy Foundation as a cartoon character sometime. You guys have it easy.

You know, I was going to take a vacation down to St. Simon’s this summer, but now I think I’ll spend my tourist dollars somewhere else. I’ve heard Disney World is nice.

What a tool. Where does he think all of those people come from to buy property down in St. Simon’s. I know when I’m down there, I see a lot of Fulton and DeKalb license plates. So which area, Atlanta or St. Simons, is more reliant on the other again?

clowns: the ga legislature is full of them.

Umm, he’s right. By a whole lot, I imagine. I can’t see him at Cirque de Soleil, though.

Right about what? That he’s closer to Disney World?
He’s closer by a whole sixty miles.
The only thing there’s a whole lot of here is the amount of toolage displayed by Keen.

Seems to be a non-issue to me. He lives far away from Marta. So what? Get your panties out of a wad.

Well jabba, it does matter because the future of Atlanta effects the rest of georgia. For a politician to not see this is mindblowing. St. Simons sucks by the way. Frat kids and shitty beaches. Yay!!!
