I wonder if any of the proponents of Milton County have added up the cost of a county -- the courts, the administrative structure, the infighting and backbiting, the cost of junkets to the far reaches of every continent to see how they do it. I think not. Has anyone made a practical examination of the costs and which one of the then wildly competing municipalities will want to avoid having the added expense and traffic and fuss when it has to be the county seat, or, the butt of the joke.
At some point all of the metro govts needs to consolidate some services. However, this is a long shot only because of the egos of the politicians involved. Creating more givts will only increase taxes for the residents.

I don't see why a metro government is considered extreme. It works really well in some places where I have dealt with local government. Nashville is the first in my mind.
