Come on.. the mayor is letting people suffer who got hurt protected us. The mayor pushed this until he reacted because she refused to help. Yes, his comments was a poor choice.. but it was emotional frustration.

Don't let Franklin blind the situation... she is the one who should resign.. and she owes him and the other officers an apology.

Focus people.. Franklin is the one who caused this problem!

You probably knew this comment was coming, but Kreher's comments are very irresponsible. You can’t threaten a public office in a public meeting. There is no excuse and Mayor Franklin deserves more than an apology. The Police union members should demand that Kreher issue a public apology and he should offer his resignation.

To think that Kreher lost his cool like this makes me wonder how he handles his duties as a police officer. Surely he has been involved in more challenging situations than this in the streets.

I like Scott Kreher and think his criticism of the Mayor's leadership of the police dept. is usually spot-on.

But this was a giant screw up.

Many people, including our mutual friends and acquaintances at ATAC, expended a lot of time and effort in preparation for yesterday's budget meeting.

Kreher's gaffe guaranteed that he, rather than budgeting, became the headline.

People who have no idea who he is will now be introduced to him as the baseball bat guy.

Knowing some of the hideous things you've said about me, Andisheh, yet another of your high-horse, phony, self-righteous, self-aggrandizing, morally-indignant, humorless rants over someone else's frustration make me do the usual morning ROFL.

The fact that you still shill such nonsense around this town is a bloody good snort.

Of course, no one gives less of a shit than me about your constant boasting and flaying about (in well over 140 characters) of your self-proclaimed "values", and your grandiose proclamations of apologies given, retracted, redacted... blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

But do you honestly think they carry the slightest bit of weight or value with anyone ELSE, other than perhaps your tiny echo chamber of one (Edelstein)?

Kinda reminds me of Bert Roughton's devotion to his own inflated sense of purpose-in-print, but I diverge...

It must be comforting, however, to know that you can support yourself, should times get really tough for print-hacks no one cares to read (or promote or distribute) anymore, by selling-off on eBay some of those busloads of moral indignation you fabricate and bellow-out, as a bit of "real" journalism on the fly, at the drop of a hat.

I bet Dick Cheney's always good for a box or two.
