Hey, at least Sonny has never inflicted a personal identity crisis on the good people of Georgia. Heck, he may be the last R governor left in the country who's able to keep both his zipper closed AND the crazy-talk at bay.

Gov. Barnes also appointed folks to the judiciary on the basis of croniism rather than merit. We have judges out there now who could not do their jobs without help.

Georgians have been pretty shafted by both the last two Governors. Roy was so elitest he almost drowned every time it rained. Sonny had a net worth of 14 cents when he was elected and is a millionaire now, he went to the Huey Long school of Government, he only "Stole his fair share".

It is just my opinion, but I'd like to try someone, anyone, new. I don't like the idea of a retread trying to run on Obama's coattails. Baker seems like a good man, honest at least which is an improvement, why not give him a chance? I know I'll be supporting him, but I'd never vote for "King Roy" for anything. King Roy spent $4,000,000 to Sonny's $140,000, whomever the Republican's nominate will not be so limited in campaign funds. The Flaggers are still around and angry, the Teachers aren't any happier, and the Arc is still waiting to Choke King Roy again.

"And perhaps most importantly, he’s more likely than anyone seeking the governorship to break the militant, city-hatin’ Georgia GOP’s choke-hold on Metro Atlanta."

For me, this part is huge. Add a new mayor, and maybe (just maybe) things could move in a more positive direction for this city.

Changing the flag may have been a mistake politically, but was morally correct. Keeping the flag would have been embarrassing. Sonny, the racist he is, didn't even try to change it back.

Good points about the Northern Arc and teachers. Those two things definitely f'd him up.

Barnes gets my vote until someone better jumps in the race.
