Yes, you can get an enema from the drugstore, however, your colon is usually as long as you are tall, so for most of us the colon is 5-6 feet long. It is a tubular type muscle that moves waste through in persistaltic waves. A drugstore enema may get as far as the sigmoid colon but not much more, therefore, sometimes a higher cleanse is needed to flush the colon of toxic undigested waste and sometimes even chemical toxins. An bigugly it is fantastic that you got through your addiction with only ocassional constipation – keep moving along the health continuum and stay well.

After an opiate (diacetylmorphine) addiction left me with severe constipation where I did not shit for literally over 30 days, an enema from Walgreens was able to cleanse me out totally. I can’t even imagine getting this done at an office with someone else.

And yes, after not shitting for over 30 days, there was a LOT of shit in there.

You are very lucky to be a good shitter. Not everyone is that lucky and even so, some toxic undigested waste gets lodged in the body, this is when colon cleansing is helpful. The body/mind sometimes needs help throwing off the toxins we may ingest from the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we eat.
