Wings bassist to play concert in Piedmont Park

Well-known Wings hits include “Goodnight Tonight,” and “Venus and Mars/Rock Show.”

He’s not touring as part of Wings, is he? I hate it when one original member of a band tours with the old group’s name. It’s dishonest. True Wings fans would probably feel ripped off.

This reminds me of the first time I felt old – as a grad student in Athens (in the mid-1980s), having lunch, when the song “Yesterday” came on the sound system, and an undergrad at the next table said, “Oh, I love this song – it’s by that group Paul McCartney was in before Wings!” I’m not making this up.

I always preferred his solo stuff. Everything before “Ebony & Ivory” was crap.
