Morning Newsdome: Cash for clunkers FAIL
July 31, 2009 at 11:26 am by Alejandro A. Leal in News- Strapped for cash: The White House hopes to keep its “cash for clunkers” program running despite running out of cash (newsdome note: Why am I the only that missed out on this?)
- “Robust public option”? Blue Dog Democrats have their way with proposed healthcare legislation.
- Tangible good news? Signs of the recession easing up as decrease in GDP is smaller than expected.
- Funny how this works: Apple is resembling another big tech company from 10 years ago that squashed competition.
- Feels like a slow news day… so here’s a picture of a dude dressed as Spider Man stopping a van full of children so a brood of ducklings can cross the road.

I would like to note that “Spiderman” is not wearing a shirt. That’s paint.

So if the cash for clunkers program already ran out of funds, doesnt that mean it was more successful than people thought it would be?? They thought it would take until november to sell 250,000 cars and it seems like it only took about a week to sell 250,000 cars… Isnt that a overwhelming success? Or am I missing something?

stjkatz — i agree with you completely.
they budgeted money to prop-up/subsidize carmakers/sellers/buyers.
the money got spent on what they said it was gonna get spent on.
