This is silly but not unexpected from Kasim Reed, given his other utterly irrelevant endorsements: Ludacris, T.I., Jamie Foxx, now P. Diddy. What the hell is this…the BET hip hop awards or the race for Mayor of Atlanta?
Someone ask Mr. Diddy if he can name a single policy position or relevant fact about any of the other candidates. Or is he just endorsing Kasim because he went to Howard and is “1 of the realest brothers” he’s ever known?
Diddy has business interests and homes in Atlanta. He opened a restaurant, Justin’s, in the city.
At the end of the day, his endorsement has created a HUGE buzz. Diddy has over 2 million followers… all “retweeting”. Not all live in Atlanta, but the buzz is reaching MANY Atlantans.
Don’t get mad because Sen Reed has entertainers as clients and friends. Atlanta is a HUGE entertainment city.
The power of social media…..has us even talking about it now!
Hmmm. Well, it obviously has had an effect on SOMEBODY:
Lisa Borders scrambling for endorsements… Putting together a random fundraiser with Julius Erving… Tries to get some airtime with the Atlanta Dream this past Thursday…
Mary Norwood doing a robocall with Dominique Wilkins…
Like it or not, celebrities played a major role in electing the President of the United States. Maybe this will help generate interest in mayoral race which, to date, has not created much local interest (as reported via several media outlets).
Why do I forsee this becoming Atlanta’s own version of Detroit’s Kwame Kilpatrick? Kasim – stop aligning yourself with the hip hop crowd. You don’t need to do it. Your stellar accomplishments speak for themselves. You don’t need endorsements from this element. Your reputation will suffer. Keep it classy, please.
I don’t understand. What does that mean, that, say, Ludacris “endorses” Kasim Reed??
I thought endorsements came from, say, firefighters’ and police unions/groups. When a group of public servants endorses someone, that lets us know that they feel they are cared for by that politician.
If Ludacris endorses you, what does that mean? That you have good rhyming skills? That you are black? That you drive a too-expensive car?
What does the word “endorse” mean, when used like that?
And what do you mean TI “endorsed” Kasim Reed? Can you be endorsed by someone who can’t vote?

Yeah, he doesn’t really have grounds to endorse anybody here…being banned from the city’s recording studios and all.

Why is this news? Kasim has been an entertainment lawyer promoting these leeches of society for years. God help us Atlanta.
