Borders on Franklin’s endorsement of Kasim Reed
November 2, 2009 at 8:25 pm by Thomas Wheatley in NewsFrom the Lisa Borders campaign on Mayor Shirley Franklin’s announcement that she’ll vote for Kasim Reed:
“I have enjoyed working with Shirley and her administration. I have learned from both her achievements and her mistakes. I will take both of those lessons into office.”
Borders said Franklin’s low-key endorsement of Reed was not unexpected. Franklin has been working in the shadows of his campaign for a number of weeks, primarily by attacking Mary Norwood. Franklin has a history of endorsing candidates the day before an election.
Worth noting: One could argue that Franklin’s criticism of Norwood the last few weeks could have also helped Borders.

I think it’s too late for the Borders camp to spin this into anything. It’ll more than likely be up to social media to fill in the gap of getting the word out since it’s too late for print pieces or commercials.
Also, are you posting this from the future? Thomas, tell us if there are flying cars and food in pill form!

Borders admits she has sat around watching pension liabilities balloon, police morale collapse and all the rest of it without lifting a finger to right the course. Now she wants out votes?

Kasim and his entire lying staff should not win this race.
The flyer stealer was their canvasser director. Kasim will run this city into the ground!

Election Day is tomorrow and the Vote-O-Meter forecasts a run-off for mayor. The final general election Vote-O-Meter forecast is Mary Norwood 41%; Kasim Reed – 29%; Lisa Borders – 24%; Jesse Spikes – 5%, Kyle Keyser – 1%; Peter Brownlowe and Write-In Candidates – 0%. The Vote-O-Meter is already realigning and retuning its algorithms for the run-off

@KK, Nicking Mary’s signs is nothing, and helps Lisa as much as it helps Kasim (i.e., not at all).
Nah, the dirty tricks prize of this campaign still goes to the person who sent the homeless to Lisa’s premature victory lunch. Westminster, Cousins, Peachtree-Pine – a sense of irony to relish.
