Great Snowstorm of ‘10 closes Atlanta roads, makes for treacherous commute

Oh, and the temperature ain’t supposed to break freezing.

In cities like Chicago, New York or Boston, a weather event along the lines of Atlanta’s Great Snowstorm of ‘10 would be rather ... uneventful.

But we’re not in Chicago, New York or Boston. Schools are closed. Roads are impassable. Drivers are in danger. Government offices and business are shuttered. Certain MARTA buse routes are sidelined. Twitter is abuzz with stories of near-death snowstorm experiences and ideas for occupying idle hours while quarantined at home.

Oh, and the temperature ain’t supposed to break freezing.
