Which Freaknik should you attend?

We’re torn between the one with the twurking contest and the one with the bikini contest.

There are reportedly two competing Freaknik celebrations vying for attendees in Metro Atlanta this weekend. One is called iFreaknik and the FREAKNIC.

Which one should YOU attend?

Let’s see.

iFreaknik touts itself as a “celebration of youth unity in our community.” In keeping with that theme, it kicks off Friday night with a wet t-shirt contest and twurk-off. If you’re unfamiliar with twurking, YouTube features many fine examples. Note: none are safe for work. Unless you work at Magic City.

iFreaknik’s competitor, FREAKNIC, claims it’s amiable, family-style event. Says its web site “We purposefully spell it  F R E A K N I C.  With the ‘N I C’ spelling denoting picnics and family gatherings.”

In keeping with the picnic and family gathering theme, FREAKNIC kicks off with a foam pool party. Ladies in bikinis get half-off admission. The foam party is followed by a Spring Break-style party at an undisclosed mansion.

Here are the posters for the two events. They kinda make me nostalgic for the picnics and family gatherings of my youth.

If neither is your speed, there’s also Dognik at Piedmont Park, Geeknik at the Georgia Dome, and BonJovnik at Lakewood.

And don’t forget, you can avoid the bad trafnik if you take FARTA.
