E-mails reported by AJC Political Insider Jim Galloway indicate former secretary of state and GOP contender for governor Karen Handel appears to have at least briefly believed gay people should have access to medical via the insurance plans of their partners.
In a statement today, Handel strongly denies ever wanting to treat same-sex couples as actual human beings. But the damage is done. Many GOP faithful are outraged.
