Though he’s known to many as one of Atlanta’s first male strippers, 41-year-old Ryder also can be found taking tickets and cleaning up after customers at Inserection’s video booths on Cheshire Bridge Road.

What kind of clientele do you see?

“All walks — young, old, from Nelly to butch to twink to you name it. Even supposedly ’straight’ men who walk in and forget to take their wedding bands off.”

What’s provided to customers?

“We sell condoms to [customers],$2 a piece. If they want larger, they’re $2.50. The napkins, paper towels, hot water and soap is provided.”

When business is slow, how do you pass the time?

“I do my artwork. I draw comic book heroes, like Spiderman, Captain America, Punisher … people like that.”

Do you have a favorite dirty movie?

“I’m the kind of the person who just puts the webcam on. Fuck the movies. I’d rather see a live webcam than watch a movie.”

Do customers hit on you?

“Yeah, of course, that’s going to happen. [Ryder's boyfriend of 15 years] knows it, but he knows I know where home is.”

After the jump, some more of Ryder’s answers. Warning: Some of them are are explicit in nature.

Adult megaclub planned near airport

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

Is bigger better when it comes to adult entertainment? The Atlanta-based Galardi adult-entertainment empire seems to be betting it is. The company, which already operates four local strip clubs, is planning to open its biggest yet this fall, bringing some Sin City sizzle to the Southside.

At about 22,000 square feet, the planned Pink Pony South will be more than twice as large as the company’s popular flagship strip club off Buford Highway in west DeKalb. But the new club will also be more upscale than most of its local competition, according to Galardi executive Michael Kapp, with a “floating sushi bar” suspended by wires over the main dance stage. Patrons can get their sashimi by walking across a catwalk 25 feet above the floor. The club will boast 18 VIP rooms, a number of large flat-screen TVs and a mezzanine level. The complex will even have a steakhouse, called Fire & Ice, with a separate entrance from the club.

“It will offer adult entertainment in a nightclub atmosphere,” says Kapp, who adds that, like other Galardi clubs, Pink Pony South will feature a rotation of “name” strippers and porn stars from the nude-dancing circuit.

Apart from the original Pony and the non-nude Club 112 in Midtown, Galardi owns the Goldrush in East Point, Onyx on Cheshire Bridge Road and Crazyhorse in Forest Park. Pink Pony South will also be located just inside Forest Park, about a mile from the state farmer’s market — and a garter’s throw from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, meaning the club is banking on strong business from conventioneers and travelers.
