Profile: Prophet Love, street preacher

Prophet Love stands at metro Atlanta intersections six-days-a-week asking passersby to repent. The 82-year-old Southwest Atlantan wears a purple suit and carries a sign with his phone number.

“[God] gave me this message: ‘You tell churchfolk that I said, out of every 100 churchfolk, 97 are gonna burn in Hell. Woe be unto you if you don’t warn them.’”

“I stand at the red light on the side of the road, sometimes no more than a foot between me and tractor trailers. And within a few minutes, my phone starts ringing. And I’ve reached thousands of thousands of people.”

On people who tell him they pray to cleanse themselves of sin: “Pray my foot! End of the day, you’re gonna get caught in flame, open your eyes, and be burning in hell.”

On what the voice of God sounds like: “He speaks in English. It’s a low-tone voice. It’s low.”
