The “world’s greatest beer” was available at the 6th Annual German Bierfest on Aug. 29 at Woodruff Park. Atlantans flocked to the late-summer event with friends, family, and colleagues to enjoy a great glass or two (or five )of German culture. Over 30 different German beers were poured.

Michael Jackson tributes in Atlanta

If you haven’t heard the news that the King of Pop has passed by now, you’re a zombie and should’ve been cast for the “Thriller” video. With fans all over expressing their grief, don’t bet against it, DJs will be spinning Michael Jackson records all weekend long.

Atlanta vigil for slain abortion doctor tonight at Woodruff Park

Atlanta-based feminist nonprofit Charis Circle sends word via Twitter that a vigil for George Tiller, the abortion doctor who was killed on Sunday during a church service in Kansas, will be held at 7 p.m. tonight at Woodruff Park in downtown Atlanta.

Critical mass bike ride in Atlanta on Friday

The monthly Critical Mass bike ride takes place this Friday. Starting around 6 p.m., cyclists will gather at Woodruff Park in downtown and pedal where their urges take them. Commenters on the ride’s message board — it doesn’t have any real political or power structure — are requesting the pack makes its way through East Atlanta.
