Mitt Romney insults a Southern tradition

January 28th, 2008 by Cliff Bostock in Food & Life

Mitt Romney is headed to catastrophe, according to Mike Huckabee, because of his blasphemous removal of the skin from a piece of fried chicken before eating it. CNN quotes Huckabee:

“I can tell you this,” he said, “any Southerner knows if you don’t eat the skin don’t bother calling it fried chicken.

“So that’s good. I’m glad that he did that, because that means I’m going to win Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma … all these great Southern states that understand the best part of fried chicken is the skin, if you’re going to eat it that way.”

CNN responds by asking Huckabee himself a troubling question. The full story’s here.

He’s proud to proclaim that he hopes to win 5 primaries based on eating chicken skin? Quite a noble stand. A real Gandi. Jefferson must be very proud of our democracy.

What if he offers to eat a bug? Will that put Nevada in his pocket? Can he eat a possum to win Indiana?

What an insulting assclown. His supporters should feeel very proud.
