Paschal gone

December 6th, 2008 by Carly M. Alaimo in Food media, News, Restaurants

James Paschal, founder of Paschal’s Restaurant and civil rights activist, died at Piedmont Hospital of heart complications one week ago. He was 88 years old. Paschal opened his kitchen and his heart to historical figures such as Martin Luther King Jr., African American entertainers, and members of the SNCC during the Civil Rights Movement, a time when no one else would. Chairman of the SNCC, John Lewis, remembers James Paschal in this online article.
