Best retail tortillas available
April 24th, 2009 by Cliff Bostock in Food & Life, RestaurantsI caught this El Milagro truck making its delivery to Fiesta Foods, the location of Taqueria el Sori, the other day. El Milagro is a national company (with an interesting history) but we are lucky to have one of their plants here in Chamblee. The fresh retail tortillas taste nearly homemade when warmed. I love the corn tortillas especially.

can you find these in regular grocery stores? I don’t think I’ve seen them before.

THey are delivered everyday to our local Publix, Shallowford Road @ I-85. If you’re there early they’re still warm. Definetly the best.

Most regular grocery stores outside of Latin areas do not carry El Milagro, but you can get them at any Mexican market in Georgia. They are all natural and preservative free, which makes them taste so darn good. There are other similar locally produced brands around that are worth trying as well: http://blogs.creativeloafing.com/omnivore/2009/01/11/mouthful-taquerias/
