It's funny the hysteria that comes from a beer not being available here. From the Bandit going eastbound and trucking to us finally getting the budwieser of the north (Yuengling), it is all such a case of cant have/must have. Everyone i know was killing Yuenglings dead when it first got here. Now everyone i know has resorted back to their regular cheap beer of choice. Same will go for Fat Tire. You will pick it up instead of Sweet Water for a while but eventually the novelty wears off. (all though in this case i think Fat tire will become part of the regular "session beers" as the porter would call it.)

Very cool report on New Belgium, Jeff -- thanks. I'd never heard of their environmental commitment before.

I'm really looking forward to having Fat Tire in Atlanta. Your opinion of it being "decent enough" is different from mine -- I had it a couple of years ago on a trip to Wichita and loved it.

Any specific date regarding when the brews at the new 5 Seasons will be available?

To illustrate just how different this company is, the employees voted to take a cut in their profit-sharing benefits in order to finance the more expensive wind energy. Can you see the Board of Directors of a publically-owned company doing that, even now that it is cool to be green? I think not.

New Belgium is proving that growth and sustainability and go coexist...it just takes a bit more time and effort. While I'm not as big of a fan of their beer as I used to be, it feels good to support a positive company like theirs.
