Anthony Bourdain’s ‘13 Places to Eat Before You Die’
June 2nd, 2009 by Robyn Baitcher in Food & Life, NewsChef Bourdain names some of his favorite restaurants from around the world in this month’s issue of Men’s Health magazine. Eateries that make the cut include Mario Batali’s parent’s sandwich shop in Seattle and the infamous elBulli in Spain. “A table at the most expensive restaurant in the world does not guarantee a truly great meal,” writes Bourdain. His list reflects this idea — giving diners options that range from just plain delicious barbecue in Kansas City, to exquisite sushi in Tokyo in case “you’re planning on dying in the near future and want to knock off a list of final, glorious dining experiences.”

Surprised Au Pied de Cochon didn’t make his list of 13.

The one in Montreal? It’s number one on my list of Places to Eat now that I live in the area.

You have to go. I have reservations for July 9th and 10th. Been dreaming of Duck in a Can.

My husband and I are holding our Canadian wedding reception the weekend after. I have been waiting for Duck in a Can myself!

I was at Au Pied Cochon (Montreal)over the weekend and it was amazing! I had the Plogue à Champlain (fois gras over a pancake with bacon and maple syrup) and the Duck in a Can, WOW!
