Canoe flooded
September 22nd, 2009 by Besha Rodell in News, RestaurantsCheck out this photo of the restaurant from yesterday:
Not only was the entire restaurant flooded, but the edible garden which they have just put so much work into has been totally wiped out. We’ll keep you up to date as we hear more.

I have read this information on other blogs. I think it is disgusting that people have been making jokes. “now they have to use a canoe to get there”
i feel sorry for the owners.

Build next to a river and you can expect a flood every now and then. I hope they had flood insurance.

Didn’t they get similarly flooded out a few years ago? Seems like they’d be pretty hard to insure at this point.

If you knew what a d*bag Carvel Gould is you wouldn’t be feeling so sorry for them. Have you ever wondered why they are constantly looking for new servers and line cooks every week? If she were so upstanding and deserved sympathy everybody else in the culinary community wouldn’t find this as poetic justice.

Having just move to Atlanta, and having had the pleasure of dining at Canoe twice, knowing nothing about local eatery politics, I will say it is so sad to see something so beautiful destroyed. That place is a slice of heaven. I am truly sad and when you think of the vision, and work that went into that place, it is so mean spirited to make jokes about a real natural disaster. Where else can you see hummingbirds like that? Eat food so fresh, and fyi there are some lovely people involved with Canoe.

@lionel flax. it has nothing to do with politics. carvel gould is a mean and ill spirited b*$#h. It’s not like I’m out to ruin her through collusion, but she is what she is. It’s just like everyone knows that Clifford and Annie tolerate sexual harassment at their restaurants. People talk and then lawsuits verify these claims. If these people don’t want people wishing ill will on them then maybe they should clean up their acts. And I’m sure there were some lovely people involved in Bernie Madoff’s operation too.
