Cantina La Casita becomes So Ba
September 29th, 2009 by Besha Rodell in NewsPho in East Atlanta! Could it be??? Yes, it appears it’s true. The owners of Wasabi in Castleberry Hill have bought the building that used to house Cantina La Casita and are planning to open a Vietnamese noodle joint in the spot within the next two months. Pho, late night, and … wait for it … weekend dim sum are planned for the restaurant, which will be called So Ba (not for the Japanese noodle soba, but I’m told the name means “my third” in Vietnamese, for the owner’s third restaurant and also the upcoming birth of his third child).

HOT DAMN. I’ve been asking for one this side of town for YEARS. Please:
1) also serve bahn mi if possible
2) don’t suck

YES!!! This is exactly what EAV needs…my life is going to change drastically once I’m able to walk to dim sum and pho instead of driving way up Buford Highway. And I really enjoy Wasabi, so my hopes are high.

Oh yes… Please don’t suck. Pho is VERY easy to mess up. I’ll definitely have to try this out when it opens :) Thanks for the heads up CL

Excellent! I am super excited about the triple word score here: late-night, Pho, and dim sum.

Cool! Nahn hosted my wedding reception in March at Wasabi (a place I love dearly). I am glad he’s opening up another place!
