Atlanta food events this week

Here are some events coming up for Halloween and through next week:

Treat Before You Trick at the Melting Pot, Oct. 31. For Halloween, the Melting Pot’s Midtown, Duluth, Kennesaw and Roswell locations will offer a special menu price starting at 1 p.m. You can eat a three-course meal that includes cheese, salad and an entree for $25, which, compared to their normal menu pricing, is quite a deal. If you come dressed in costume you’ll receive a chocolate course for $5 per person. 404-389-0099.

RA Sushi’s Boo Bash 2009, Oct. 31. Starting at 7 p.m. RA Sushi is celebrating Halloween with food and drink specials for the night. The “Boo Bites” specials, the $6 Creepy Cali Roll, $7 Voodoo Roll and $7 Spider Roll, can be paired with some $7 “Potent Potions,” which include Vampire’s Kiss, Bloody Brain and Skullini. DJ Scott will entertain guests with a mix of horror movie theme songs and top 40s hits. There is no cover charge and the kitchen will remain open until 1 a.m. 1080 Peachtree St. 404-267-0114.

Rathbun’s and Kevin Rathbun Steak Halloween Special, Oct. 31. Kevin Rathbun’s restaurants is offering Halloween menu specials. Both offer a selection of menu items to be combined into a three-course dinner for $25 at Rathbun’s and $35 at Kevin Rathbun Steak. The restaurants will also offer their regular menus. Krog Bar is offering a $10 glass of wine and appetizer special.

Holy Taco’s Day of the Dead, Nov. 1. For the second year Holy Taco is celebrating the Day of the Dead with festivities for adults and kids alike. Starting at 3 p.m., the festivities consist of skull tossing, sugar skulls, temporary tattoo painting, a local DJ and the food of Holy Taco, of course. The event lasts until midnight and chef Robert Phalen’s new fall menu items will be available. 1314 Glenwood Ave. 404-230-6177.

Shaun’s Edgewood Social Third Anniversary, Nov. 4. James Beard Award-winning chef Louis Osteen, One Flew South mixologist Jerry Slater, President of the Southern Foodways Alliance Angie Mosier, and Chef Shaun Doty are putting together a five-course dinner in celebration of the third anniversary of Shaun’s Edgewood Social Club. The dinner is $65 per person with $20 wine pairings. The cocktail reception begins at 6:30 p.m. and dinner follows at 7:30.
