Playboy named Majestic Top 10 Diner

Hanging with the Girls Next Door all night could definitely work up an appetite, probably leaving Hef with the hankering for some late-night eats. So Playboy.com searched the country for the top 10 diners and picked Atlanta’s own Majestic Diner as one of the stand-out establishments:
This Atlanta institution has been serving “food that pleases” under its Art Deco-style marquee’s blazing neon glow since 1929. The Majestic serves everything from cholesterol-threatening omelets and fist-thick burgers to blue plate specials and gyros. Red stools complement a red counter, while squeaky vinyl seats are well worn, providing cushy support for a multitude of derrières. The Majestic is located along a stretch of “Hot ‘Lanta” that’s resisted urban renewal, so the freaks do come out at night: college students, clubbers and other locals.

errrr, has anyone at playboy BEEN to the majestic lately, or just read the press releases?
while in a drunken stupor at 3 AM, the majestic always sounds good in theory.
but the last 3 or 4 times i have gone against my better judgement and eaten at the majestic, i have ALWAYS regretted it.
i’m not saying i want it to close down, but new management would be extremely welcome.

give me the circa 1998 menu, Ms. Inez and i’ll love my majestic all over again. until then, please just go elsewhere y’all. it’s overpriced, super not fabulous and just pisses me off royally

and if Urban Outfitters next door, closed down Gorins replaced with FedEx or something isn’t urban renewal i don’t know what is. seriously. can we get the 1/4 or 1/2 fried chicken meal back?

I miss the older, cheaper, tastier, more diverse menu at Majestic, too. The new booths are clean & pretty, but that’s not a fair trade for yummy food.

yeah you can get the quarter fried chicken plate back.. just go in on wednesdays when it’s served, and order it..
