Help save America

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

Woo hoo! It’s National Cocktail Day, according to the the Museum of the American Cocktail. In honor of that, here’s Rowdy’s celebration of Holeman & Finch’s Greg Best, whom many consider the city’s best bartender. If you don’t go to H&F, for God’s sake, go somewhere and stimulate the economy by getting sloshed.

Holeman and Finch Public House to open tonight

Monday, April 14th, 2008

The good news is that after months of waiting, Holeman and Finch will open tonight at 5 p.m. The bad news is, they do not have their liquor license in hand, even though it was approved last week. So there will be no tasting of Greg Best’s wondrous cocktails, unless by some miracle the license shows up in the next hour. Until that happens, they will be BYOB.

It may be that Shirley just needs to sign the license but she’s too busy. Sign it Shirley, sign it! We want cocktails!

New restaurant from chef Linton Hopkins and team

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

Linton Hopkins, executive chef and co-owner of Restaurant Eugene in Buckhead, is teaming up with his wife, Gina, and mixologist Greg Best to open Holeman and Finch Public House, a restaurant that will focus on charcuterie and dishes like house-made fettuccini, fried bologna and mustard, and cane sugar cola floats. The new restaurant, named for Hopkins’ and Best’s maternal grandfathers, will also feature unique spirits, using tonic and soda made in house, and wine from boutique wineries.

Holeman and Finch Public House is slated to open this fall at the Aramore across from Restaurant Eugene. For more information about Hopkins, check out Besha Rodell’s interview with him here.
