Source: Trib’s Fechter quits, joins Emerson
May 7, 2007 at 3:27 pm by Wayne GarciaTampa Tribune reporter Michael Fechter, whose 10 years of stories critical of former USF professor Sami Al-Arian laid the groundwork for Al-Arian’s years-long federal prosecution on terrorism charges, apparently quit the paper today to go to work for another Al-Arian critic, Steven Emerson, according to Ahmed Bedier, the Tampa Bay director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
Bedier said he spoke with a Trib reporter preparing a story on the resignation.
