Afternoon Roundup
August 30th, 2007 by Wayne Garcia in The Morning PapersWe’ve been having fun all summer long:
- The Trib has started a new crime blog; PoHo-props for the tone and the comparison of John Couey to our favorite Lorne Michaels imitator; minor points deduction for the blog being uncomfortably like our Blotter column. Or is it an homage?
- One of my old GOP buddies sends this link along with the note, “this story is all wrong only Republicans are corrupt.” To which my response is, “no, even Democrats are corrupt, but only Republicans get arrested in public restroom stings.”
- Los Republicanos no estan viniendos.
- Hit ‘em where it hurts.
- No booze in rest of the RayJay.
- They are officially on double-secret probation.
- So, like one time in college, we made this giant super-hitter out of a plastic tube from some guy’s golf bag, a rubber stopper with two holes in it we stole out of the chemistry lab and …
- Oh, this is going to make his online minions go absolutely batshit crazy.
- Bottom line from this editor: The economy in Tallahassee is so good that the paper can afford new laptops. (Thanks for sharing that with us.)
- Any blog post that starts “Ann Coulter is my kind of conservative” either demands to be read or should trigger some kind of response by mental health officials.
- The amazing part of this story is the assertion that Tucker Carlson isn’t gay.

I’m glad I could inspire the Trib with my Blotter musings. Crime does pay for some of us. Welcome to the club Josh.
