February 14, 2008 at 4:09 pm by Wayne GarciaFrom the past two or three days of media company announcements:
- The New York Times will cut 100 newsroom jobs.
- Tribune Co. newspapers, including the LA Times and Chicago Tribune, will cut 2 percent of its work force, or 400-500 jobs,
- The Tribune-owned Orlando Sentinel’s publisher up and quit.
- Even Canadian newspapers are closing and putting journos out of work.
- Readers are increasingly shifting away from print to getting news and info in a digital format …
- … yet they won’t pay for it.
- And US Weekly’s circ is up!!! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
