Teams that have never had a winning season don’t deserve new stadiums.
That’s the equivalent of giving an employee a huge raise for coming in late everyday, drinking on the job and losing the company a lot of money.

Are you saying I deserve a big raise, Kyle? I thought so.
And the Rays are well on their way to their first winning season. Of course, the main reason for the turnaround is the team spent money to keep quality players on the roster, where as in prior years the organization would have refused to pay competitive salaries and those players would have gone elsewhere. Why the sudden change in management philosophy? Well, they need a winning team to convince the residents of St. Pete to pony up valuable real estate and tax money to build this waterfront sailboat.
So, I wonder, does this mean that once they ram the stadium down our throats, will the team go back to sucking?

You’re right. Rays are looking good this year. I just think there shouldn’t be any stadium talk at all until that actually happens. The Trop is just fine. I enjoy going to games there.
