The Short List — Mon., May 19
May 19th, 2008 by Joe Bardi in Presidential Politics, The Morning Papers
A little dose of straight talk.
- McCain to hit up the RNC for campaign cash.
- The “very, very, very old” candidate also hit SNL for one of the worst guest appearances ever.
- Obama draws 75K in Oregon.
- Clinton finds a new scapegoat: the media.
- This just in from Germany: Too much smiling can kill you!
- Olbermann vs. O’Reilly — the feud escalates.
- Time digs Crystal Skull.
- Is Sir Charles headed for skid row?

Hopefully, Sir Charles can dial up Dwayne Wade and borrow a few mil before Mr. Winn tracks the doughy ex-baller down and breaks his already fragile kneecaps.

I tried watching McCain on SNL the other night but kept nodding off. Can we really take four (not eight) years of that?
As for Sir Charles, he needs to scrap his never-ending campaign for governor of Alabama. Wallace may have done a lot of bad things, but he never stiffed a casino!

Doesn’t Charles know that the house always wins — and it always gets its money. Maybe he can get a loan from Tiger?
As for McCain, I found the whole thing kind of sad. He seemed awkward, the script was God fuckin’ awful (I’m talking about the first segment he was in — I missed Weekend Update), and I seriously doubt the appearance did anything but hurt his prospects among young voters.
The fall campaign is really going to suck. I loved living in a state where no one could campaign before the primary. As it were, I could follow along just as closely as I would have otherwise, but I was not bombarded with non-stop political advertising before election day. Ah, what happy memories.

re: A little dose of straight talk.
I like John McCain. I do not like John McCain. I will vote for him. I will not vote for him.
