Lionel, where are you when Tampa Bay needs you?
May 20, 2008 at 12:43 pm by Wayne GarciaFor those who lived in this area in the late ’80s and early ’90s, the name Lionel should do more than ring a bell; it should cause you to laugh out loud. Lionel, in reality a former lawyer here named Mike Lebron, ruled the airwaves on WFLA AM radio with a quick wit, amazing ability to create different voices and an acerbic tongue for public officials.
Lionel went off more than a decade ago to NYC to pursue the big time in comedy and radio (and, briefly, a wonderfully bizarre show on Court TV), and now airs on what is left of Air America Radio.
Here is a clip of Lionel dissecting a wild Hardball segment in which Chris Matthews tries (in vain) to get an answer from a bloviating right-wing talk show host.
