Barack Obama to critic rallies: go tea-bag yourselves [video]

President Barack Obama addresses the American Tea Party rallies (and Fox News) by saying he welcomes a serious discussion of the issues and, specifically, how to pay for health care in this CNN clip.

Video: Tax Day Tea Party planned for Tampa; 5,000-10,000 expected to attend

FreedomWorks Foundation is putting together a Tea Party of Tampa’s own, for April 15, after a similar protest of the bailout and government spending drew 4,000 in Orlando. I’ve talked with one politico who plans on being there and he said he was told to expect 5,000-10,000 people at the twin rallies at noon and 5 p.m. in downtown Tampa’s Gaslight Park.

Here’s the details from FreedomWorks, plus a Tea Party video after the jump:

Political Whore Podcast#4: AIG, Tea Parties and Jamie Bennett’s POWW strategy

The weekly Political Whore Podcast (the “HoCast”) is ready for your enjoyment. We had a great session that started off with a listen to the Free Republic’s Kristinn Taylor exhort the patriots at the Orlando Tea Party this weekend.

Tampa Bay folks among 4,000 at Orlando ‘Tea Party’ protest this weekend

OK, I get it that people are angry. I’m angry. I get it that in tough times, nationalism is the natural response. I don’t like that, but I also get it.

But here’s my question to the people who go to the so-called Tea Parties: Are you carrying zero debt? Do you have no credit cards, or an equity line, or a mortgage on your home that is in excess of its value?

Because unless you can meet that test, you are PART of the credit crisis/banking problem and have no room to bitch about the government efforts to have us (all the US citizens who caused it by taking on too much personal debt) pay for it.

From the Orlando Sentinel:

…More than 4,000 people attended the Orlando Tea Party, a conservative rally aimed at expressing discontent with Washington.

“This is maybe the greatest single gathering of God-fearing patriots in the history of Orlando, Florida,” local conservative radio host Bud Hedinger, who emceed the event, told the crowd.

Tons of photos from the rally here.

American Tea Party has new website at Pajamas TV

Wingnuts Michelle Malkin and Joe “the Plumber and Lousy Foreign Correspondent” Wurzelbacher “are mobilized to help cover this new and evolving revolution,” is the way the miscreants at Pajamas TV put it on the new website for America’s latest faux revolution.

“Uncle Sam – get out of my wallet!” is the catchy slogan (”Don’t Tread on Me” having been trademarked by Nike apparently) for the website, which will help you organize and publicize your own local Tea Party.

America is on the brink of another revolution. In a new American Tea Party, citizens across the USA are beginning to protest giant government programs that reach deep into their pockets. These programs create huge economic burdens on American families and threaten their livelihood now and into the future.

Plus, videos, of course, what revolution could be complete without being televised. Scariest link: “watch Joe Wurzelbacher (Joe the Plumber) interview members of Congress.”

Dumb, meet dumber.
