All you holier-than-thou hipsters always have to act like you don’t like “lowbrow” comedies, but you know you liked most, if not all, of them. I can’t believe how many people pretend that they don’t like “Talladega Nights” mostly just because it is associated with Nascar, it surpasses even “Anchorman” as Ferrell’s best comedy. Come on, you people know you’re just being phonies when you say you didn’t like any Will Ferrell comedies.

Does anyone think its ironic that in this article the guy calls out Austin Powers and Mike Meyers when Ferrell actually had a small role in those films as Mustafa? He credits Ferrell for giving other comedians chances yet Meyers let Ferrell actually do that exact thing. Don’t get me wrong, Im not a big fan of Austin Powers, but Ferrell was really funny in that.

As flawed as Semi Pro may be, it was Way better that talladega and blades. Easily his funniest movie in a while. Although, as bad as talladega and blades were, I can see how people could be turned off to it. Semi Pro will catch on in DVD (like Anchorman did) and he will be vindicated that way.

Go see Semi Pro, I laughed the whole time.

I think Anchorman is a brilliant, classic comedy that will be around for a long time. I can’t even begin counting how many times I’ve watched it – it has that kind of repeat viewing quality. The same cannot be said for his later comedies but come on, give Anchorman its due.

00 is correct in saying both that Apatow did not write ‘Anchorman’ and that he gets credit for everything nowadays. Apatow did produce ‘Anchorman’ and ‘Talladega Nights,’ but is not credited on the screenplay for either film.

And you’ve got to be kidding me, “Talladega Nights offered far more pointed parodies of NASCAR fans and commercialization than Pixarâ€™s Cars did.” Of COURSE it did. What a ridiculous stretch to make a point.
