See & Do: Music: British Sea Power
April 21st, 2008 by Chad Radford in Music
Do You Like Rock Music? The title of BRITISH SEA POWER’s third full-length sounds like a loaded question, and maybe it is. The Brighton, U.K., foursome crafts cinematic walls of majestic rhythm and melody, and meandering, instrumental valleys, all under the guise of wintry, new wave pop tones. Think Joy Division, Arcade Fire and all points between and you’re in the right neighborhood. The stark military garb the group sports during performances will add flair to the show at the Earl Mon., APRIL 21. This is hardly musical fodder to be easily filed under “rock,” sans adjectives, but British humor is always confusing. $12-$14. 9 p.m. The Earl, 488 Flat Shoals Road. 404-522-3950. www.badearl.com.
