Everybody cut Footloose at Screen on the Green

May 6th, 2008 by Curt Holman in Film, News

The votes are in for the final, June 26 slot for this year’s Screen on the Green at Centennial Olympic Park. Based on fan voting at Peachtree TV’s web site, Kevin Bacon’s Footloose prevailed against Rocky and Back to the Future. Perhaps audiences can be persuaded to sing (or even dance) along with such tunes as “Let’s Hear it For the Boy” and the Kenny Loggins title song. The rest of the Screen on the Green line-up is here.

Incidentally, fans (or detractors) of Footloose will appreciate Bret McKenzie’s “angry dance” from this scene from “Flight of the Conchords:”

Probably my favorite FOTC scene. That and “Foux De Fa Fa.” It might even be better than the real thing.
