I loved this book and even though it relates to golf I don't think you need to be an enthusiast to enjoy it, such is the skill of Hiassen's work.

Another guy I've just come across who is really reminding me of Hiassen in his fiction is Alan Rolnick. He's just written a book called Landmark Status, all about greed, corruption and overdevelopment in Florida, all written in a sharply witty, snappy dialog style that compares to the great Elmore Leonard. The thing is he also retains this social conscience throughout, making this as much a satire as it is a comedic mystery novel.
