Hundreds of people turned out for the 20th annual Second String Santa holiday party was held at the Time Warner Cable Arena last night. The party raised money and gifts for needy children around the area. Though the party itself lacked glitz and glamour in the decor, the guests shined in their best black-tie attire.

Last Wednesday was the Epicentre’s first annual Turkey Trot. Patrons perused the four popular bars — Suite, Whisky River, Howl at the Moon and BlackFinn — for one price.

The Red Hot Turkey Bash went down last Tuesday at the Wachovia Atrium. The event is an annual charity for the American Red Cross Greater Carolinas Chapter.
