Rose Hill Drive kicked off the action on the main stage at Friday’s SoCo Music Experience. Hailing from Jam-friendly Colorado, the blues-rockin’ trio owes more to late ’60s stalwarts such as Cream or Blue Cheer. No strangers to Atlanta, the guys recoded their debut album at Southern Tracks with in-demand studio whiz Nick DiDia (Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine). Listen to RHD’s Jacob Sproul, Daniel Sproul and Nathan Barnes chat with CL’s Lee Valentine Smith shortly before their blistering set. Just as they concluded their late afternoon show, torrential downpour and ominous thunderstorms closed down the evening.

I’ve seen their tour bus. It rocks. And the fact it runs on veggie oil rocks too. Of course their music rocks even more. Can’t wait to see them again at their CD release party at the Earl on June 7th. If you haven’t seen ‘em, you should.
