Sick Puppies have the distinction of being one of You Tube’s most-heard bands. Their song “All The Same” was featured in the popular Free Hugs video, shot by lead singer and guitarist Shimon Moore. A close-knit trio (there were a lot of trios at SCMX this year), the band recently relocated from their home in Sydney, Australia to Los Angeles. With the release of Dressed Up As Life last month, the band continues to produce a mighty roar of melodic pop with enough alt-abrasiveness to keep the kids happy, backed with intelligent lyrics that should appeal to adults. Shimon Moore, Emma Anzai and Mark Goodwin talked to Lee Valentine Smith after their abbreviated, thunderstorm-threatened set.
