The Fox Theatre turns The Color Purple

What looked like a near-sellout crowd showed up at the Fox Theatre on Tuesday for the opening night of the nine-time Tony Award-nominated musical The Color Purple, including Mayor Shirley Franklin (with Jasmine Guy) and fashion designer Mychael Knight.

   Unfortunately, Lori, they were sitting behind me and bolted during the standing ovation. I caught Mychael Knight and his friend before the show.
