Drive Invasion at Starlight Six Drive-In

September 1st, 2008 by Alan Friedman in Events

On Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend, hot-rod enthusiasts, campers, and bikers filled the giant concrete field of Starlight Six Drive-In to drink PBR and yell obscenities at one another in the scorching summer sun. The cars were fully decked out with unique accessories. Many of the tattoo-clad car enthusiasts camped out over the weekend so they could enjoy the festivities well into the night.

Growing up in East Atlanta in the 1960’s I am glad they are doing things at the starlight drive in such as the drive-invasion.

The Starlight had only 2 screens in the 60’s. The concession stands had outdoor seating in front of the and even playgrounds for the children.

Everyone went there on Friday and Saturday nights…It was a community gathering place.

    Keep it up…Good Job.
