Sideshow Atlanta

While the eyes of the world and nation were affixed on the race between Barack Obama and John McCain, U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss was running a tight one himself against Democratic nominee Jim Martin. On Nov. 4, the Republican incumbent — who as things stand now is facing a runoff — hosted his fellow Republicans at the Intercontinental Hotel in Buckhead. Cash bars, fancy suits and pretty women were a-plenty. As well as open-jawed silence around midnight when McCain conceded to the senator from Illinois.

ITLA hosted the 12th Annual Black Gay Pride weekend which kicked off with an opening ceremony on Friday night at the W Hotel - Midtown.  Atlanta’s soul music scene offered their support with intimate performances by Janelle Monae, Julie Dexter, Rhabi and more.

Dragon*Con 2008 took over the streets and hotels of Atlanta again this year, packing in the Jokers, Hellboys and Iron Men. And as always, scantily-clad women roamed the halls, much to the delight of everyone with a camera. Which is everyone.
