Top 10: Pink Floyd songs
May 18th, 2007 by Wade Tatangelo in News
Roger Waters plays the Ford Amphitheatre on Saturday, and like any other teen who inhaled, I’m pretty damn excited. The show is billed as “The creative genius of Pink Floyd performing The Dark Side of the Moon.” On the European leg of the tour, Waters saved the album presentation for set two, using the first half of the show to trot out gems from other Floyd classics like Wish You Were Here and The Wall. Considering Waters and Gilmour are still feuding at full force, this might the next best thing to ever seeing the actual Pink Floyd.
Top 10 Pink Floyd songs of all time
1. “Shine on You Crazy Diamond,” Wish You Were Here
2. “Us and Them,” The Dark Side of the Moon
3. “Comfortably Numb,” The Wall
4. “Wish You Were Here,” Wish You Were Here
5. “Time,” The Dark Side of the Moon
6. “One of These Days,” Meddle
7. “Hey You,” The Wall
8. “Mother,” The Wall
9. “Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2″ The Wall
10. “Careful with That Axe, Eugene,” Ummagumma

YES, Wade, YES!!! Great pick for #1 — a “miss” could be “Run Like Hell” =)

I’d add “Have a Cigar” from Wish You Were Here and my sleeper favorite “If” from Atom Heart Mother. For good measure, I’d throw in “Julia Dream”, which appeared on Relics and others.

Young Lust is probably my alltime favorite . I do love David Gilmours All lovers are deranged (I realize that’s not what you asked for but I’m a rebel like that)

You missed “Sheep” from the Animals record.
Roger played it last night.
Roger, has always been a pacifist, quite political, but last night was over the top.
“Many in the crowd cheered in agreement but many also were vocal in their disapproval. Choruses of lusty boos could be heard following ‘Leaving Beirut,’ and one man stood in the aisle angrily extending his middle finger toward Rogers.” C. Ross Tribune
BTW No, I was not the guy giving him the finger, but Roger is clearly confused.

I partiularly love “Fat Old Sun,” “Echoes” “Astronomy Domine” and “Fearless,” mostly because these were songs I discovered on my own — those I’d never heard growing up and part of a great catalogue I never knew existed until I went looking.
Not trying to be a fangirl or anything but Fifth — If you’ve listened to any music by Waters (Dark Side especially), then you should be familiar with his political views. Describing him as “Over the top” is a bit extreme. “Shameless” would be more appropos.
And I’m not really sure how Roger was confused — please explain.

Money, Another Brick in the Wall(all parts), and Run Like Hell are some that i would add. One of personal favorites though is Goodbye Blue Sky.
