Much to our senior editor's chagrin, I've always had a soft spot for KC, probably because my dad played the Miami disco-funker a lot when I was a kid. A couple weeks ago, I risked the scornful looks of the hipster clerks at Vinvyl Fever and picked up a used copy of KC's greatest hits — and am loving it. By the way, Chuck Prophet did a great cover of "Boogie Shoes" a couple years back (last year?) at WMNF's Tropical Heatwave. Good call on all three.
