NYC sci-fi rockers Apes & Androids (pictured) perform at Creative Loafing’s Sensory Overload bash March 29. Rolling Stone recently profiled the band, describing their sound as: “A dance floor-ready cocktail of Queen’s bombast (complete with Freddie Mercury’s falsetto), 1980s Prince, Ziggy Stardust-era Bowie and Beck’s Midnight Vultures.”
- She & Him, Duffy and Robyn, who I wrote about here, shine at SXSW (Los Angeles Times). Stay tuned for info about how Tampa Bay bands like Have Gun, Will Travel fared in Austin last week, where they played the locally-sponsored showcase Bandango.
- Trent Reznor giving more music away (New York Times).
- Clip of Leonard Cohen being inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (You Tube).
- Has pop music become too wordy (Slate)?
- Here’s a clip of me being interviewed about Ani DiFranco and other stuff on Tampa Bay Media Talk (You Tube) … A “2.3″ rating? I’m assuming out of 3.
