This year's Heatwave, which takes place May 17, features Crescent City brass band Soul Rebels, an act like Andrews combing trad NOLA jazz with funk and hip-hop. I first saw Soul Rebels at Jazz Fest several years ago and was amazed by the distinctiveness of their sound, one that's def not being created here or just about anywhere else outside the Big Easy.
