Independence Fest tonight at State
July 5th, 2008 by Wade Tatangelo in News
OK, folks, the 4th of July bender that began Wednesday night with the Rays game and hit its stride Thursday with the Hot Dog Show (for me, at least) continues this evening with Creative Loafing’s Independence Fest.
See ya there.
Here’s the skinny:
The second installment, set for Saturday, July 5 at 8 p.m. will again be curated by the Southeast Music Alliance and feature performances by Car Bomb Driver, Have Gun Will Travel, Lakeland’s Mouse Fire and Military Junior. Greymarket has been replaced by The Future Process.
Voter registration will once again be taking place on-site and in an added effort to get you off your couch, into your car and to the show, we will be giving away a $50 Gas Card at the end of the night!

Military Junior
Math-rock, prog-pop - all words that describe Military Junior’s moving alt-rock sound.

M. Burke and co. just released their second CD. Hailed as best new band, best indie/alt-country band, best re-invention of a punk/emo trio, these guys have won every accolade in the book. Come see why.

Lakeland’s Mouse Fire has been described as “perfect indie pop-rock for the attention deficit crowd.” Recommended for fans of Franz Ferdinand and The Killers.

Legendary St. Petersburg-based old-school punk rockers Car Bomb Driver, close down the party with classics such as “Electric Sheila” and “Brookwood Girls.”

The Future Process (replacing Greymarket)
This electro-industrial-goth duo recalls Nine Inch Nails or a mellow version of Linkin Park? Plus, Melissa wears bat wings on stage!
